Once upon a time there was "La grande armee at austerlitz" i had a very old pc and i was not able to play it
; after some time i saw that JMM was hiring for beta testers for HistWar Les Grognards (it was 2006/7) ... i had previous experiences for beta testing with some other napoleonic pc games and i sent the e-mail.
I was over the moon when the team replied i was IN the beta testing ... and it was fascinating, starting with a single infantry regiment to test movement, then cavalry... then infantry vs infantry.
All was really tough with JMM answering many things and seeing the files we sent on "mantis" (a website for beta report) ... ahh Mantis
....
Then HWLG was released and all the team continued working on patches ... i had bad life times and i lurked on the forum... but HWLG was there, i had to come back and help for the incoming patches and HW Nap...
Now we are near the new HistWar Napoleon and i can explain how it feels to be part of the HistWar engine... even with faults that are present in HWLG and that will be present, i presume, in HWN but i know how dedicated is JMM, his family and the developing team.
Hope the best for this game, this heavy and maybe cumbersome idea (sometimes)
i enclose a picture of the very first game: "la grande armee at austerlitz" so all of you might understand the work behind HW Napoleon
