Hi to everyone on the forum.
Just bought this game after a lot of watching its development over the years.
Hope everyone is enjoying it and maybe i'll get to go into battle with a few of you soon (after a spot of practise!)
Been playing this type of game for years starting with fields of glory and progressing through many many other games along the way.

That pratice is very important to get used to the basic system, but "real" practice with other people in MP will be more use than solo mode - as far as tactics are concerned.

Please take a look over at the NBC forum, we have a small core of very active players in MP and PBEM, everyone is welcome.

Gunners right here. At NBC we use Xfire voice chat during practice games specificaly to coach those who are new to HLG

Thanks for the advice I will have a look at the site a bit later.
Actually my napoleonic history goes back to turcans games i just remembered!
Played those for many a hour with my late brother (He was my napoleonic teacher and is much missed but he is also my inspiration for buying this game and shelling out for a new pc to run it!)
He reminds me every day that lifes too short for half measures!
