Bonsoir JMM,

Thank you again for these great screenshots... a few comments and suggestions:

1. The Translations: I have no problems with the current verbage.. I am used to these Francais terms, of course.. and I think everyone should learn them..  but others may still be confused... so, I would suggest some small changes.. as they appear, top to bottom, on the screenshots...

SS#1
Beginning of the fight -> Beginning of the Battle
Duration of the fight -> Duration of the Battle

SS#3
Arm -> Branch
Artillerie a Pied -> Foot Artillerie
Artillerie Montee -> Horse Artillerie
Cavalrie Lourde -> Heavy Cavalrie
Cavalrie de Ligne -> Line Cavalrie
Cavalrie Legere -> Light Cavalrie

SS#4
Garde -> Old Guard
Moyenne Garde -> Middle Guard
Jeune Garde -> Young Guard
Dragon -> Dragoon (why is this not listed as a Cavalrie Arm?)
Leger -> Light
Ligne -> Line

SS#6
The Unities -> The Units (I would leave the historical names as they are... by the time the player reaches this screen, he should know if he is choosing Gaurd, Light,  Line Infanterie, etc., etc....)

SS#7
Arme -> Branch
Unity Name -> Unit Name
Affection -> Attached to
Bataillons -> Battalions
Cannon -> Canon (I prefer Francais spelling.. hahahaha)
Livre -> Pound
Reinfortment at -> Reinforcement at

General de Division -> leave alone, good enough 'as is'
General de Brigade -> leave alone, good enough 'as is'

2. The Attachment of Units: I am not sure I understand the method of attaching units that is being shown on  SS#2 and SS#5..

I think I understand the attaching method on SS#7.. it seems to be a different method.. it appears that you can select individual historical units to attach to a specific Commander... I think..

So, I don't know for sure..  a few more JMM notes would be very helpful for my poor translator.. hahahahahahaha

Again, I am just making some comments and suggestions.. as it is now, I can easily understand the Screenshot terms of this EoB..

Cordialement, Duc d'Earl

Bonjour JMM, been working all night again have you?
Thanks for the English screenshot by the way or shall I say JMM-English screenshot?  :lol:

Duc d' Earl,
A small remark:
You have written "Gaurd" in a couple of places. You mean off course "Guard", don't you?

Regarding the attachment of units, can it be that in SS#2 you select the division and in SS#7 you attach it to a corps commander?
That's what I make of it anyway.

It's one thing that confuses me and that's the Line cavalry. I had the impression that the Line cavalry could be everything from hussars to cuirassiers and that only the cavalry of the imperial guard was excluded.  When I see Heavy, Line and Light as separate cavalry arms I get confused.  :?

2. The Attachment of Units: I am not sure I understand the method of attaching units that is being shown on SS#2 and SS#5..

SS#2 starts the process.. CL on the free slot
7 steps:
1/ nationality
2/ branch
3/ type
4/ attach to a Corps/Column (SS#5)
5/ commander name
6/ unit name
7/ division name (french only)
8/ brigade name (french only)

SS#7 to show the final result 8)

Optional steps : you can modify the charisma, and others parameters..

You choose the brand and the nation..
ie french infantry... See the SS#4 but if you choose russian army, the list becomes : Guard, Grenadier, Jaeger and Mousquetaire.

For the french cavalry, the 3  lists are:
heavy cavalry: Cuirassier, Carabinier, Grenadier..
line cavalry: Dragoon, Lancier
light cavalry: hussard, chasseur, mamelouk, chevau_léger..

For the russian cavalry, the 3 list are:
heavy cavalry : Garde du Corps, Chevalier Garde
ligne cavalry: Dragoon
light cavalry: Hussar, Uhlan, Cosaque...

Clear :?:  :wink:

It's perfectly clear JMM.

Line cavalry is like middle cavalry e.g. dragoons at least in Histwar games.

What confused me was a book I'm reading called "Napoleon's line cavalry recreated in colour photographs" by Stephen E. Maughan. That book covers both light and heavy cavalry, but I'm not gonna hold you responible for that.  8)

Bonsoir Gents,

JMM.. the process for attaching units is clear.. thanks for the extra notes... it looks like a linear process to attach only 1 (one) unit at a time.. i.e. steps 1/ - 8/... then repeat for the next unit...

I don't mind that process at all... because I'm a patient Commander.. but, some other players might think that this process is too slow.. they might demand an attachment process for groups of units... instead of just 1 (one) unit at a time.... just a thought..

Question: Will there be a deletion process in case I make the mistake with the unit attachment and I want to start over?

Question: Will there be a transfer process where I can transfer a unit.. that I have created and customized... between different Commanders.. in case I make the mistake with the attachment but do not want to delete the unit and start over again?

Foot Dragoons?.. ah yes, I should have known that... *thumps forehead with hand*... hahahahahahahahahaha

Link.. good catch on spelling 'Guard'.. I always get it wrong..

The different grades of Cavalrie?... I think that we can let JMM slide with 3 grades of Cavalrie.. but just this time.. hahahahahahahaha

Cordialement, Duc d'Earl

Do you think I don't think we make mistakes 8)
a/I have to use this editor  to define the OoB of the Release
b/Sometimes,  :oops:  :?  :wink: error BUT  :wink:  8)

You are entering an Unit A.. So, you are continuing with B :oops:
You want to modify A.. NO PROBLEM.. Just CL on the slot A!
AND : Again you see the right page with all parameters.. You can change all informations and do another attachment... :D  :D

This process is very easy, so I don't think I add a 'Multi-Attach- process  :wink:

It's possible to quickly do anOoB (around 15 seconds per unit).
I have to design a random generator...

A bientôt
Nice Day
JMM

Bonsoir,

SS#6
The Unities -> The Units (I would leave the historical names as they are... by the time the player reaches this screen, he should know if he is choosing Gaurd, Light, Line Infanterie, etc., etc....)

The units which are displayed on this screen have been defined by the Branch/Type selection...

If you choose Infantry + Old Guard, just 2 units are showed on 1805 : Grenadier + Chasseur! So, it's not necessary to add any information...

Duc d'Earl and everyone of Beta Test Team, in the next hours you are geting the Beta 1.00!
Please, if you note some important features you want to say to our communauty.. you can talk about these ones... (but no the defaults :lol:  :D  :)  :(  :oops:  :roll: )
