Can your men be killed by "friendly" fire.....for example : If two Infantry units are one behind the other, and in rnage of the enemy, will the one in the rear fire though their own unit, or (I hope) HOLD fire, so as to not kill their own troops.

The same question for cannons, can "friendly" cannon fire kill their own troops ?.

Infantry units that stand behind friendly units hold fire. In real, the third rank used not to fire because of the danger for first rank so a unit behind another... (but I know that in some games it does  ).

Artillery uses direct fire, it means that gunners can see the target so friendly gun fire is rare : too marginal to be taken in account in LG.

Very good, units holding fire while there are friendly units between them and the enemy is ideal, something TW games don't do !.

The story of Cornwallis deliberately letting his artillery fire into his own infantry. IIRC that is also more myth than truth.
