The 11th of foot is also my old regiment  by the way. It also fought at Salamanca. Anyone tell me what it was called? A bonus for the name it was given on that campaign? And teachers pet for anyone who knows what its calld now?

1751 : 11th regiment of foot.
From 1782 to 1881 : 11th regiment of foot « North Devonshire ».
From 1881 to 1958 : Devonshire regiment.
From 1958 to 2007 : The Devonshire and Dorset regiment.
Since 2007 : The Rifles.

Am I right ?

Yea but u forgot the nickname :  "The Bloody 11th"

The regiment earned the nickname ‘The Bloody Eleventh’ when they incurred nearly 70% casualties at the Battle of Salamanca in 1812 in the Peninsular War.

Mojo... Well done! You go to the top of the class... (unbelievably quick) I award you a packet of chocolate hobnob biscuits (although other biscuits are available and must be purchased by said player!).

Marechal_Darsh, excellent, you were right. You may have three hob nob biscuits with a mug of tea/coffee! (above rules for the purchase of said biscuits also apply).  ;)
Once more into the breach dear friends...

Your right Gunfreak. Lets hope he makes his way over here, after all he generates 90% of the posts! Leave a light on for him.

P.S. How come you got corporal already and I'm only a soldier?  :|
