Smoke effects in LG

Anyone having any problems with the smoke ?......it looks very good when close to the unit shooting but looks horrible when even a little distance away, my pc is quite a high spec and displays smoke in Empire brillently, but in LG it's no good at all from any distance away, in fact everything looks very good at close in range, but not so good when you move the camera out a bit.

It's a Level of Detail thing.  Things get simplified as they get farther away.

For example, close up a unit might be a mass of unformed troops, but if you move farther away it resolves into units in line.  Smoke looks detailed up close, but if you're far away it's just a cloud. 

The distance is a bit too short for my tastes.  It is possible that there's a game setting to help with this.

That's what's needed, changable graphics setting....we don't all have the same spec pc's.....

I just spent some time watching a replay from the viewpoint of some units that were being attacked by artillery.  The smoke from the artillery was the only way I knew they were firing, and they were far enough away that the impact took 4 seconds from the time the guns fired.  It actually looked pretty good.

The smoke and general artillery fire looks a lot better now after the graphic cards advise was carried out - well worth the few minutes it takes, even if graphics are not your number one priorty, it does add to the atmospher.
