Cannon crew questions.
« le: 17 novembre 2009, 15:43:34 pm »
A real pity we lost the --------- forum, many things were perhaps asked there in the past, but it's all gone !.  I don't re-call this information and I've not seen anything in the manual.

A couple of questions about the artillery crews ?.

Do artillery crews take cover behind friendly Infantry when under threat ?.
How many men/models do there have to be, as a minimum, to keep the gun working ?.
Can the crews get killed from  friendly musket fire ?.

If you mean with their guns : yes, they do. If you mean without their guns : no, they don't.

As far as I remember, they keep firing as long as there remains one. May be JMM can tell us if the decreasing of the gunners have an impact on the rate of fire.

I have never seen this case when testing. I don't think it's possible.

I think the fire till the last second and then run for a square was often used so it should be in the game  soon.

Is theire any shooting through theire own man ? With arty or Inf ? I hope not...

then run for a square was often used

not often but it was used. When attacked by cavalry the first duty of gunners is to defend their guns. If because of cavalry number they can't do this, then the safety reaction is to lay down under their guns and/or wagons. Running for a square needs to have a square at a short distance to have time to reach it.
