Here's a fix (extended playing time) for the maps Austerlitz and Borodino.

Extract the zip files into HistWar\Map\.
Then choose the scenario and then go to the maproom and choose the map "Austerlitz 2" or "Borodino 2".

Rapid share tends to have a full time message : Servers overloaded at this time, it's there most of the time - and again today.

I've tried a multi-archive rar file but that filetype is not allowed here.

If you zip the individual map folders without the .BMP, they'll be small enough to attach to a  message.

Yes, I'll add them here, too.

Here're the files without maps.
You need to copy over the .bmp file from the original map folders.

Many thanks Ras.  Downloaded ok.
But having looked into the map folders, found that several of them, including Austerlitz, don't have map bmps. in them.  
Has there been something wrong with my initial HistWar installation?

You can generate the .BMP yourself by opening the map in the map editor, then saving it without making any changes.  This will generate the graphic file. 

Sometimes this will change how the map elevations are displayed, so if there is already a .BMP, save it somewhere in case you prefer the original one.  This is especially obvious in the Montebello map.

No, there's nothing wrong with your install. The maps are just missing.
If you download from the rapidshare link, you'll get the maps.
