Voici deux scénarios permettant de rejouer la bataille de La Rothière (01 février 1814), un scénario historique (1814LaRothière) et un scénario alternatif non historique (1814LaRothière alt), scénarios 5/9 et 6/9 de la série couvrant la "Manoeuvre de Brienne".
Le dossier compressé de ces scénarios contient :
- Un sous-dossier "Army" dont le contenu doit être placé dans le dossier "Army" de votre installation. Il s'agit des ordres de bataille des deux scénarios.
- Un sous-dossier "Map" dont le contenu doit être placé dans le dossier "Map" de votre installation. Il s'agit de la carte de ces scénarios. Le positionnement historique des unités a été réalisé et enregistré sur cette carte pour chaque scénario.
- Un sous-dossier "Scenari" dont le contenu doit être placé dans le dossier "Scenari" de votre installation. Outre les liens vers les ordres de bataille et la carte des scénarios, ces fichiers contiennent une introduction au contexte historique et stratégique pour chaque scénario, ainsi que les informations et objectifs de chaque camp au moment où les scénarios démarrent. Ces scénarios sont disponibles en français et en anglais.
- Deux images par scénario, "LaRothiere_A.bmp" et "LaRothiere_B.bmp" pour le premier scénario et "LaRothiere alt_A.bmp" et "LaRothiere alt_B.bmp" pour le second, qui permettent de visualiser des informations sur le contexte historique et stratégique au moment où débute chaque scénario (LaRothiere_A et LaRothiere alt_A pour le camp français, LaRothiere_B et LaRothiere alt_B pour le camp coalisé).

Here are two scenarios to replay the battle of La Rothière (01 February 1814), scenarios 5/9 and 6/9 in the serie covering the "Maneuver of Brienne". The compressed file contains :
- A sub-folder "Army" whose content should be placed in the folder "Army" of your installation. This is the order of battle for these scenarios.
- A sub-folder "Map" whose content should be placed in the folder "Map" of your installation. This is the map of the battle for these scenarios.
- A sub-folder "Scenari" whose content should be placed in the folder "Scenari" of your installation. In addition to links to the order of battle and the map for these scenarios, these files contain an introduction to the historical and strategic context as well as information and objectives of each side when the scenarios start. These scenarios are available in French and English.
- Two images per scenario, "LaRothiere_A.bmp" and "LaRothiere_B.bmp" for the first one and " LaRothiere alt_A.bmp" et " LaRothiere alt_B.bmp" for the second, that can display information on the historical and strategic when the battle begins (LaRothiere_A and LaRothiere alt_A for the french side, LaRothiere_B and LaRothiere alt_B for the coalition camp).

Quelques précisions
Le scénario historique (1814LaRothiere) vise à reconstituer l'environnement et les circonstances dans lesquels la bataille s'est effectivement déroulée. La précision de mes sources historiques n'étant pas forcément suffisante pour une reconstitution aussi détaillée, j'en appelle à votre indulgence pour les approximations que j'ai pu faire. Si vous constatez des erreurs historiques, n'hésitez pas à m'en faire part, je serai heureux d'échanger avec vous sur ce sujet, et de corriger mon scénario si nécessaire. A noter que les placements initiaux des troupes, qui se veulent historiques, ne seront pas respectés par l'IA.
Il s'agit d'un scénario original, sans lien avec le scénario "officiel" livré avec le jeu. Ce scénario n'a pas la prétention d'être meilleur, ni pire, que le scénario officiel, mais a simplement pour vocation de compléter la série de scénarios couvrant la "Manoeuvre de Brienne" de manière homogène. L'orthographe utilisé pour les différents fichiers permet d'installer ce scénario sans écraser le scénario officiel existant.
Le scénario alternatif non historique (1814LaRothiere alt) cherche à simuler ce même affrontement, mais en partant du postulat que de Wrède ne participe pas à la bataille : historiquement, ses instructions initiales étaient de se porter sur Saint-Dizier, et non de rejoindre pour la bataille.

Some details
The historical scenario (1814LaRothiere) seeks to reconstruct the environment and the circumstances in which the battle has actually taken place. The historical accuracy of my sources are not necessarily sufficient for a reconstitution as detailed, please be indulgent for the approximations that I could do. If you find historical errors, please let me know, I'll be happy to share with you on this subject, and correct my scenario if necessary. Note that the initial placements of troops, they want history, will not be respected by the AI.
This is an original screenplay, unrelated to the scenario "official" delivered with the game. This scenario does not claim to be better, no worse than the official scenario, but simply aims to complete set of scenarios covering "maneuver Brienne" evenly. The spelling used for different files to install the scenario without overwriting the existing official scenario.
The alternative scenario unhistorical (1814LaRothiere alt) attempts to simulate this same battle, but with the assumption that de Wrede is not involved in the battle : historically, his initial instructions were to march to St. Dizier, not to join the battle.
